Before completing Devyne Rensch’s transfer from Ajax, Roma appear to have targeted another Dutch player, this time from the English Championship.
As reported by soccernews.nl, Devyne Rensch was not the first target for Roma’s defense in the last January transfer window.
The Giallorossi had their sights set on Milan van Ewijk of Coventry City, but, according to sources consulted by the Dutch online portal, the costs of the operation were too high.
Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi therefore knocked on Ajax’s door for Rensch, who, with his contract expiring in June, could be purchased for a lower fee.
