In the 58th minute of yesterday’s match between Roma and AC Milan, Manu Koné suffered a muscle strain in his right thigh flexor during a challenge with Rabiot.

After collapsing to the ground and immediately requesting a substitution, the midfielder limped off the pitch and immediately headed to the locker room with the club’s staff.

Medical tests performed this morning, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, will clarify the extent of the injury, but initial reports suggest a possible lesion that could sideline Koné for at least two to three weeks.

“He pulled a muscle…”, Gasperini confirmed in his post-match press conference.

Consequently, the Frenchman will miss Thursday’s match against Panathinaikos or next Monday’s match against Udinese.

Pisilli and El Aynaoui will compete for his place alongside Cristante.
