Roma are determined to part ways with veteran defender Chris Smalling this coming summer.

After a season marked with extended injury absences, Smalling is now rumored to be on his way out of the capital club.

According to Leggo, Roma are disappointed in the way the ex-Man United centreback handled himself this year after coming off two brilliant seasons with the Giallorossi, where he collected a total of 85 appearances, starting for the club in the Conference League final in Tirana and the Europa League final in Budapest.

The newspaper claims that these differences between club and player could motivate Smalling to consider options on the market.

His contract with Roma is set to expire next year and his large wages are deemed unsustainable by the club.

As a result, Roma have begun the search for potential buyers, primarily targeting clubs in Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
