Roma are looking to recruit a second-choice goalkeeper to pair with Mile Svilar.

The Giallorossi are more than satisfied with Svilar’s unexpected ascent under Daniele De Rossi.

So much so that the Serbian shot-stopper is expected to sign a contract extension with the capital club, becoming their long-term number one option in goal.

With Rui Patricio’s imminent departure in free agency, Roma will have to add another player in that position who could serve as back-up to 25-year-old Svilar.

As a result, Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport reports that Roma have shifted their attention to Standard Liege goalkeeper Arnaud Bodart.

The player is particularly appreciated by Roma and is currently the favorite on the Giallorossi’s shopping list.

This past season Bodart maintained 5 clean sheets in a difficult campaign for Standard who finished sixth in Belgium’s top flight.
