Memphis Depay has been linked with Roma in the opening weeks of his free agency.

The Dutch winger is now available for free after his contract with Atletico Madrid officially expired on June 30th.

In search of more playing time, the ex-Man United man has been offered to several top clubs around Europe.

In the last few days, Tuttomercatoweb reports that Roma also showed interest in Depay and inquired about the attacker’s availability.

However, the news portal adds the answer from Depay’s entourage was clear: the salary would have to be high (very) to make him accept any destination.

Depay is requesting at least 5 million euros in fixed wages plus bonuses – for the time being, these figures are deemed outside of Roma’s financial range, especially given their determination to slash the club’s wage bill this summer.
