The winter transfer window will finally open in two weeks, and sporting director Frederic Massara will need to be ready to try and strengthen the Giallorossi squad.

Gasperini has been quick to point out the need for some signings in interviews to shore up the squad and aspire to something beyond fourth place.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Trigoria club is evaluating two names. The first is young Ekhator, a striker from Daniele De Rossi’s Genoa with excellent prospects. The second is a familiar face in Serie A: Beto, a Portuguese striker who plays for Friedkin’s Everton and formerly of Udinese.

According to Matteo Moretto on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, speculation about a swap deal between Roma and Everton is gaining traction, with Dovbyk joining the Toffees and Beto joining the Giallorossi.

Gasperini’s favorite remains Manchester United’s Zirkzee, and discussions have intensified in recent hours, but the Sancho “lesson” has taught them to look around, and Massara is also monitoring the former Udinese player’s profile.
