After closing deals in successive weeks for Rui Patricio and Matias Vina, Roma are nearing an agreement for their next acquisition.

Both Sky Sport and SportItalia have reported that the Giallorossi and Genoa are getting closer to an agreement for attacker Eldor Shomurodov.

Roma executive Tiago Pinto and Shomurodov’s agent are scheduled to meet sometime today to discuss personal terms.

Il Grifone are asking €20 million for the 1.90m (6’3″) tall attacker, who scored eight goals for the club last season. Though, it is a possibility that Roma could add players to the operation in order to help lower Genoa’s asking price for the player.

Another option is that the Giallorossi could decide to acquire the player on loan with an obligation to buy, which would allow them to account for the purchase on next season’s financial statement and not the current one.
