Roma will need to bring a new striker to Trigoria in January.

One of the most highly sought after is Yuri Alberto of Corinthians. Frederic Massara had already negotiated him in the summer, but was unable to sign him to Gian Piero Gasperini.

The Giallorossi’s sporting director will presumably try again in January, given Gasperini’s need to strengthen his attacking capabilities.

In recent days, the Roman club has been in contact with the Brazilian striker’s entourage.

However, Corinthians are asking around €30 million for him.

The negotiations are also being held up, at least for now.

As reported by CaughtOffside, Atletico Madrid, West Ham, Sporting Lisbon and Friedkin’s Everton are also interested in the 2001-born striker.

At the same time, Yuri Alberto isn’t the only player Massara and Gasperini are pursuing, but he’s one of those at the top of their list of favorites. For this very reason, Roma may intensify contact with agents to outcompete them.

However, negotiations with Corinthians will then be needed to reach an agreement regarding his transfer. Meanwhile, at Trigoria, they’re also evaluating the other players on the Sporting Director’s list. One of these is Joshua Zirzkzee.

Gasperini likes the former Bologna striker, now at Manchester United, and would like him to join the Giallorossi.

The Friedkins have given the green light for an investment, but the Red Devils might not be able to sit down to a deal with Roma until the end of January.
