To unlock the signing of Dovbyk, the Roma president first convinced the player to reject Atletico Madrid’s proposal.
Then, Friedkin was able to convince Girona to lower their requests through the solid relationship with Soriano, the CEO of the City group.
Ultimately, the deal was completed for a total of 38.5 million euros.
