Tensions between Roma and AIA have steadily grown over time.

These tensions culminated recently with the the head of the Italian referee association, Gianluca Rocchi, setting up an emergency meeting with the capital club in order to confront them about their misconduct.

So far, La Repubblica reports that Roma have had to pay over €100,000 in fines since Jose Mourinho’s appointment in the summer of 2021.

Moreover, the latest fine which followed the events of Derby della Capitale is the highest one to date – Roma are set to pay Lega Serie A almost €27,000 to compensate for Bryan Cristante and Nuno Santos’ misconduct, as well as the team’s delay to get back on the pitch after half-time.
