Claudio Ranieri is steps away from officially becoming Roma’s new head coach.

The club’s official announcement is expected in the coming hours.

Yesterday, after four hours of intense negotiations, the Roman coach accepted a contract that will tie him to the club until 2025, with the prospect of moving to an executive role at the end of the season.

Should his third coaching spell in the Italian capital end positively, the Friedkins have offered Ranieri a possible executive role, allowing him to remain at the club long-term.

The offer, of course, represents an opportunity for both parties: for Ranieri to remain tied to a project he cares deeply about and for Roma to take advantage of his expertise not only on the sidelines, but also in management, writes La Gazzetta dello Sport.
