Roma are ready to overtake Milan in the race for Gladbach midfielder Manu Koné.
As the transfer window draws to a close, Roma seem intent on making the decisive move for the 23-year-old player who is also being pursued by Milan.
AC Milan, initially in the running for the French midfielder, now find themselves blocked due to the situation linked to Ismaël Bennacer and the restrictions with regards to the squad list.
Thus, Roma are now in pole position to land Manu Koné.
According to Rete Sport, an official contact between Roma and Borussia Moenchengladbach is expected in the coming hours.
The Germans, who value Koné at around 20 million euros, could be tempted by the offer that Roma is preparing, which should include a fixed payment close to the requested amount, accompanied by 3-4 million euros in bonuses.
Roma could use the savings obtained from the termination of Rick Karsdorp’s contract – which would free up around 4.4 million euros – to facilitate the Koné operation.
With these resources freed up, the Giallorossi are now in a more favorable position to present a competitive offer and secure the talented midfielder.
