RomaPress – Roma and Manchester United are racing to finalise the transfer of Chris Smalling to the Italian capital.
The news comes within the last minutes that the sides reached an agreement for the player worth €15 million plus €5 million in bonuses. However, the sides must complete all the necessary paperwork before 20.00 CET, which is when the transfer window will close in Italy.
It’s a sensational turn of events as just one hour ago, Jozo Palac, the intermediary of the negotiations between clubs, told several Roma-related outlets, including RomaPress, that it was “gave over” for the return of the player to the Eternal City.
