Roma are finally facing the price of the latest international break.
Yet another muscle injury has struck at the key moment of the season.
The victim was Wesley, sidelined by a thigh problem that Brazil is reporting as a lesion.
The full-back left the pitch for the friendly against France in Boston, which Manu Koné missed, having remained at Trigoria with a hamstring injury. Wesley will join him today.
The 2003-born player will be in Trigoria today. The international break forced him to return to his base from the United States.
Between today, Sunday, March 29th, and tomorrow, he will undergo medical tests to determine the type of injury (there is a risk of injury) and the recovery time.
If the same results as those received by the Brazilian national team are confirmed, it is hoped the injury is not serious.
In the worst-case scenario, if he sustains a serious injury, Wesley could miss the matches against Inter, Pisa, Atalanta, and Bologna, returning in early May against Fiorentina. It’s unlikely, if not impossible, to see him on the pitch at San Siro on April 5th.
This situation has created concern for Gian Piero Gasperini, who, at the most crucial moment of the season, risks losing his best player since Donyell Malen.
