Former Roma manager and current Napoli boss Rudi Garcia looked back on his time in the Italian capital.

In a recent interview with DAZN, which served to highlight Garcia’s return to Italy, the French technician discussed working with Francesco Totti, Mourinho’s work with the Giallorossi and more.

“Totti was a great champion, like Cristiano. He was always the first one to see something on the pitch and had the technical quality to react to what he had seen. He was a crazy talent,” said Garcia of the Roma legend.

“Mourinho? I already met him when he was at Real Madrid and I was at Roma. Today he is a competitor, but the joy he has given back to the Roma fans is important, the stadium is always full. He has won many things, he has great career behind him.”

On Roma supporters, Garcia remarked, “Sometimes you are not a prophet in your own homeland, and I think I am recognized more in Italy than in France. I went to a concert at the Olimpico after signing with Napoli and the Roma fans were nice and told me ‘Too bad, but we love you. So congratulations and good luck.”
