Salernitana president Danilo Iervolino took to his Facebook to encourage his side ahead of their season opening match tonight versus Roma, labeling the capital club as Scudetto contenders.
His team play host to Jose Mourinho’s men tonight in Salerno at the Stadio Arechi with kick-off slated for 20.45 CET.
“Our journey begins tonight in a league that we want to keep as a key part of our story,” began Iervolino.
“We’re facing a very strong team that’s trained by a fantastic Mister. Certainly Roma is a contender for the Scudetto but Salernitana is strong and has within itself the ‘Macte Animo’ (Latin expression for bravery) that unleashes its courage and passion in times of need.”
Finally, “Our stadium filled with 30,000 supporters will help Mister Nicola and all the players to do their best and get a great result.”
