Salzburg are not willing to let Oumar Solet join Roma on loan.

The young defender had been one of Roma’s preferred targets for January, with Solet himself suggesting a preference for collaborating with Jose Mourinho in the future.

However, il Tempo reports that Salzburg have denied any approach from Roma involving a loan for the 23-year-old.

The Austrian side have made it their priority to monetize off Solet’s exit – La Repubblica claims Salzburg value Solet at €17 million as his contract is set to expire in 2025.

In recent months, Solet has been faced with limited playing time due to several injuries to the knee and calf muscle.
