Sardar Azmoun’s loan spell at Roma is drawing to a close as the Iran striker is expected to return to his parent club.

Despite being a good presence in the locker room and providing the team with occasional bursts of energy, Roma will not activate Azmoun’s buy option from Bayer Leverkusen, informs Leggo.

With only 3 goals to his name for the Giallorossi all year long, the club do not consider Azmoun an important long-term signing.

The decision has already been taken and Azmoun will likely make his return to Leverkusen after featuring for the last time in Roma colors in Friday’s friendly in Australia with Milan.
