Matias Soulé participated in a new episode of the AS Roma Podcast.

Joining the Giallorossi number 18 was Abel Balbo, a former Giallorossi striker. Both spoke about some of the milestones in their careers, from their debuts in their homeland to their arrivals at the club.

The number 18 first spoke about his connection with Argentina: “When I can, I go back there. Italy is similar, but for those born there, there’s nothing like Argentina.”

Soulé then spoke about his connection to the capital: “Rome is unique. It’s very similar to Argentina; you have everything here. The climate is one of the best; it’s undoubtedly one of the best cities in the world.”

Regarding his time in Argentina, the 2003-born boy said: “We both went to boarding school. I went at 11 without my parents, then I came to Italy at 16. There, sometimes the older one couldn’t cope without his parents, while I was hungry and resisted.”

Regarding his move to the Giallorossi, Soulé said: “When I was at Juventus, I really wanted to move. It’s a wonderful club, a wonderful team. Here in Rome, there’s a lot of passion; the fans are almost crazy. We hope to give them a lot.”

Then the striker spoke about the thrill of scoring in a derby: “It was incredible. We were trailing, and it was my first goal at the Olimpico. I didn’t imagine it would happen; it was a beautiful goal, and I didn’t know if it would have gone in.”

On sharing a dressing room with Paulo Dybala, Soulé said: “I’ve known him for a long time, but I’ve gotten to know him better here, and now we’re always together. He’s great off the pitch, too.”

On the national team and the upcoming World Cup, the number 18 said: “I’m thinking about the World Cup; it would be wonderful. For us Argentines, playing for our country is magical. I can’t imagine what my debut would be like.”
