Two years after his last call-up with Italy, Stephan El Shaarawy made his return to the national team under Luciano Spalletti.
Before tonight’s kick-off to Italy’s Euro Qualifiers with England, El Shaarawy spoke about the feelings behind his long-awaited return to the national team squad.
“It’s a great emotion to be back in the national team, I found a wonderful group that I already knew,” the Roma attacker told Sky Sport before the game.
“Two years have gone by but now I have more experience, I have learned to play in different positions and I can certainly give more in that aspect.”
