Roma midfielder Tommaso Baldanzi is expected to earn his second Serie A start with the Giallorossi.

Daniele De Rossi is reportedly intent on giving the 20-year-old a chance from the start, replacing Dybala with the ex-Empoli man.

Dybala’s recent injury woes and inconsistent fitness levels are said to have prompted De Rossi to select Baldanzi as the Argentine’s heir in Roma’s starting formation versus Lecce, writes Corriere dello Sport.

Baldanzi will, in all likelihood, start behind Romelu Lukaku and Stephan El Shaarawy who will lead the attack in Salento.

For Baldanzi this will be a big opportunity after making his most recent appearance in Roma’s XI versus Brighton in the second leg of the Europa League Round of 16.
