Francesco Totti is increasingly close to returning to Roma. He confirmed it himself during a Betsson.Sport event.
“A return to Roma? We’re talking. We’re evaluating a few options. Let’s see what we can do together. I had dinner with Gasperini,” he said.
The longtime Giallorossi captain—who will initially serve as an external consultant before joining the club as a director—added further details in an interview with Sky Sport: “I’ve always been a fan, and I’m speaking outside of Trigoria. Roma has always been my home, and I’m happy with the path they’re continuing to take.”
With many kind words for his club, the former captain then addressed the rumors surrounding his return to the Giallorossi: “There have been rumors lately. It’s true that we’re talking and discussing some details, and we’re deciding what’s best for everyone. I hope we can resolve this situation.”
Finally, Totti commented on Gian Piero Gasperini’s work: “He’s doing an excellent job. Let’s hope Roma can return to the Champions League as soon as possible, at least. Me being close to him? We went out to dinner, we talked about football and more.”
