Key Match-up:

Bruno Peres  vs. Federico Bernardeschi

Roma’s defensive fragility has been on display so far this season. One position that has been a glaring weakness for the Giallorossi is left-back. Juan Jesus has failed to impress thus far and has been at fault for a handful of goals, with his latest blunder coming against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League.

Until Mario Rui returns, Roma must play Bruno Peres out of position on the left due to the lack of ability at the position with Emerson lacking any sort of ability, Juan Jesus having the defensive aptitude of a Lega Pro player, and Moustapha Seck lacking the experience to play such a large role in the team. It’s certainly not ideal given the large amount invested in Peres, especially considering it means Alessandro Florenzi, who has also been extremely poor this season, is a start at right-back.

Sunday will prove to be a huge test for the Giallorossi at the Franchi. With Roma having struggled to contain teams from overrunning their flanks, Bruno Peres must be up to the test as he will face highly rated youngster Federico Bernardeschi.
