Di Francesco speaks ahead of Crotone

John Solano

Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco spoke today at Trigoria ahead of the match against Crotone. These are his words:

Roma has the best defensive numbers in the league. What does it mean?
It’s not something that is tied only to the guys in defence, but it’s a general team concept, the high press allows us to better defend. The entire team deserves credit.

What needs to be improved in attack?
Roma is the team that has had the most 1 vs. 1 duels and the team that has won the most. Only Inter have made more crosses than us. Where we need to improve is to better accompany our attacking opportunities with our midfielders and fullbacks. Against Torino, we had 65% possession of the ball while creating so many dangerous situations. I do not think it was an ugly victory like it was against Atalanta, but in certain situations we could do better. They are different victories. We’ve shown great compactness but we’ve got to do more.

Karsdorp and Schick?
Karsdorp will start tomorrow, while Schick has continue his recovery and growth path.

Could the team withstand turnover for Dzeko and Kolarov?
I don’t think neither of them will be on the bench, they will be starting tomorrow. I think they are ready to play from the physical and mental point of view, but then I will evaluate them before Bologna.

Is there a chance to see De Rossi and Gonalons on the pitch together?
There was a chance against Napoli, but then I made other choices. Not tomorrow, only one will play.

Gerson and Ünder could start?
They could, yes, maybe even both.
