Former Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic expressed his regret for the decision to move away from the club in 2016.

It was then that Pjanic – one of Roma’s best players under Rudi Garcia and Luciano Spalletti – decided to commit to a controversial transfer to Juventus.

In an interview on the Aperibiza Podcast, Pjanic reflected on his career.

“In Rome I fell in love with the fans, the environment and cried when I left. It hurt me deeply, but I wanted to take another step in my career, first moving to Juventus where I immediately reached the Champions League final, then going to Barcelona which is the best club in the world.”

“A footballer’s career is short and you always have to find new motivations, staying in the comfort zone is a simple thing, but it’s not good.”
