Roma manager Jose Mourinho praised his team for their reaction late in the second half to guarantee three points versus Udinese.

The Portuguese technician also admitted to having ‘quality options’ off the bench which allowed him to manipulate and play around with the team’s formation after Udinese’s equalizer in the second half.

During his post-match press conference, Mourinho reflected on the roster’s flexibility.

“The negative about tonight is that we had the chance to control the match and close it out earlier on but didn’t,” said the Special One. “We lacked that ambition, although fortunately we showed a great reaction in the second half.”

“Our bench tonight was full of quality options,” he added. “I made some changes and the team responded really well. The second goal we scored shows plenty of quality but very little organization.”

“The changes we made allowed us to find the needed stability for 10 minutes. This, in turn, allowed us to win the match.”

“The players on the bench were really good tonight. I left Belotti, Aouar on the bench, I had a good bench, with many solutions.”
