Despite much skepticism regarding his output, Leandro Paredes’ impact since his arrival manifests itself in the Argentine’s stats.

The midfielder – who returned to Roma on a permanent deal this summer after having left the club in 2017 – is quietly doing his job and fulfilling Mourinho’s requirements in light of Nemanja Matic’s unexpected departure in the summer.

As reported by Francesco Lucca for ForzaRoma.info, Paredes is the player who has completed the highest number of passes this season, 87.9%, but also the one most sought after by his teammates after Mancini.

Not only precision and technical skill with the ball, but also that very healthy attitude that is necessary in that role: his percentage in successful tackles is also the highest among all members of the team.

With Sassuolo, Paredes probably played one of his best matches for the Giallorossi; at Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia he won an average of 8 out of 10 tackles, therefore 80%, combining this figure with 102 touches, 92% passing accuracy and 100% successful dribbling.

Mourinho continues to back him, providing Paredes with regular starting minutes: so far, the Argentine hasn’t disappointed the Special One’s expectations.
