Roma have reportedly slowed down in their talks for the arrival of Leonardo Bonucci.

The capital club have been engaged in discussions with Bonucci’s agent to enable the veteran defender’s signing in January from Union Berlin.

According to Il Tempo, Roma are currently hesitating in finalizing the talks with Bonucci due to the strong reaction from the fanbase who expressed their unsatisfaction with the decision to sign the ex-Juventus defender.

Moreover, the Giallorossi also prefer to put discussions on hold as they continue to evaluate the possibility of adding younger players to their roster. 36-year-old Bonucci would be viewed as an emergency signing without necessarily fitting into the club’s long-term plans.
