Roma midfielder Houssem Aouar is set to depart for international duty with the Algerian national team.
The ex-Lyon man will join his countrymen in their AFCON tournament which will last around six weeks until mid-February.
Aouar was recently called up despite having missed the last few weeks with injury.
Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi reassured the media that Aouar is healthy and fit again for the competition.
“Aouar has recovered and is fit, I have good contacts with his club and with him,” Belmadi said in his introductory presser today.
