Serie A official Daniele Orsato was once again the center of numerous controversial situations in last night’s Derby della Capitale.
The Italian referee seemed to lose control of the match in the latter part of the second half, distributing several yellow and red cards to both teams. The likes of Azmoun, Pedro and Mancini were eventually sent of by the veteran official.
According to Il Messaggero, him and Roma captain Gianluca Mancini had had numerous tense instances leading up to the defender’s red card in added time.
Mancini was seen arguing with Orsato throughout the match, with Orsato telling him, “I’m not talking with you anymore,” before producing the red card that ended the Roma player’s night.
As a result of this red card, Mancini will be suspended for the first game of the Coppa Italia’s next edition.
