De Rossi introduces 4-3-2-1 formation ahead of Hellas Verona clash

Andy Mattioli

Daniele De Rossi is ready for his first game on Roma’s sidelines as the team’s head coach.

With only a few months to prove his worth as an interim manager, De Rossi is already pondering some changes to apply to the Giallorossi’s starting line-up for Saturday’s clash with Hellas Verona.

According to Sky Sport, De Rossi and his staff are set to adopt a 4-3-2-1 approach which will differ from the formation Mourinho used to field.

De Rossi is in fact set on including Stephan El Shaarawy in the line-up. The Italian winger will play alongside Paulo Dybala and the pair will support Romelu Lukaku from behind.

In the midfield, De Rossi will involve Lorenzo Pellegrini, Edoardo Bove and Leandro Paredes – Cristante remains out with a suspension.

Meanwhile, the defense will start with Rui Patricio, and a backline of Karsdorp, Huijsen, Llorente and Spinazzola.
