Roma defender captain Gianluca Mancini spoke to Roma TV ahead of this evening’s kick-off with Brighton at Stadio Olimpico.

The Italian centreback discussed the importance of a sold-out stadium for the Giallorossi.

“It’s going to be a difficult match, like every other match in Europe,” said Mancini. “We face a team that plays in the Premier League, so they will be aggressive, they play very fast-paced football and mentally and tactically we have to be prepared for anything.”

“I’ve seen some of their games and they play good football, they like to switch things up and are very flexible.”

“200 appearances in Serie A? Having played so many games with Roma fills me with pride, because from the first moment I set foot in this city, in Trigoria and at the Olimpico in my head the objective is always to give my best for this club and I hope to play many more.”

“The fans at the Olimpico an extra gear for us. We have to be good at drawing them close to the team, but they give us a hand. It’s up to us to make the believe in us.”
