Lorenzo Pellegrini was back on Roma’s scoresheet in this evening’s win over Sassuolo.

The Giallorossi captain led the team over the Neroverdi thanks to a strike from outside the box.

In his post-match interview with DAZN, Pellegrini noted on his constant improvement under Daniele De Rossi, “I think if I’ve improved, it’s the fact of always being at the center of the game. In the middle of the pitch I have to feel free to do what I do best.”

“This is the truth, it’s what I’ve been missing in the last year and a half and I’m happy to find it again for myself, for Roma, for my teammates.”

“Today we had to win at all costs. Last week against Fiorentina it was important not to lose. Today we did ours and these three points are very important.”

“De Rossi? There is a lot of respect, you know. Daniele has always been a point of reference for me. I was lucky enough to experience him as a teammate and now as a coach. I think it’s right that we now share a mutual rapport, full of positives.”
