Legendary former Roma captain Francesco Totti shared his thoughts on the ascent of ex-teammate Daniele De Rossi as the club’s head coach.
In an interview with Sportmediaset, Totti was asked about De Rossi and his impact on current Roma skipper Lorenzo Pellegrini.
“I didn’t expect De Rossi to do so well straight away but I hoped he would,” said totti.
“He is proving to be a great coach and I, like all the Giallorossi fans, hope he continues at this level. Roma is a difficult place and he is demonstrating its value. He does it knowing the city, the fans and the club well and therefore bringing all this together to ensure that the players perform with maximum peace of mind.”
“Pellegrini? After De Rossi it was difficult to find another captain, I had already said that Lorenzo is a real captain, from Rome. Now he is also physically well and he can do everything the team needs him for.”
