Tommaso Baldanzi is expected shortly back in the Italian capital.
The 20-year-old midfielder was supposed to feature in Italy U21’s match with Latvia but a muscle injury suffered in training prevented him from being available throughout the remainder of the international break.
According to Corriere della Sera, the injury appears to be related to his left abductor muscle: a swift decision was taken by Italy U21’s staff to send him back to Roma.
Later today, Baldanzi will undergo tests and begin theraphy in order to recover as quickly as possible.
