Roma fullback Zeki Celik was one of the best players in Thursday’s win over Milan in the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinals.
After producing a strong performance in the Derby della Capitale, Celik was once again given the chance to feature in Daniele De Rossi’s line-up.
After Roma’s victory, Celik spoke to Roma TV about the result.
“We won and we are very happy, but it’s not over. For me this match was a first half, there is another match at the Olimpico in less than a week and we have to win to go through,” said the Turkish international.
“Leao? We know that Leao is very strong. I had to wait for him and defend well against him, but the whole team played well,” he added.
“De Rossi? He brought enthusiasm and passion into the dressing room. We are happy with him.”
