Former Roma manager Claudio Ranieri has decided to retire.

The Italian technician and lifelong Giallorossi supporter has made the decision to retire after helping Cagliari avoid relegation and stay up in Serie A.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, the decision has just been made and Ranieri, after resigning from his post as Cagliari coach, has decided to retire.

In his long career, Ranieri coached Roma on two occasions, between 2009 and 2011 and more recently in 2019 where he came in and served as interim manager following Eusebio Di Francesco’s sacking from the capital club.

His greatest achievement remains the historic Premier League trophy with Leicester City.
