With the future of Paulo Dybala on the line, Tommaso Baldanzi is being reportedly nursed to become the heir to the Argentine attacker.

The Italian midfielder, in fact, is set to increasingly play a more prominent role in Roma’s plans and as a result Daniele De Rossi’s starting line-up next season.

A lot will depend on Paulo Dybala’s intentions and whether the 31-year-old will agree to stay and renew his contract with the Giallorossi or whether the two sides will choose to part ways this summer as Dybala’s release clause is set to become active in the coming weeks.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Baldanzi is guaranteed more playing time next season – the 20-year-old was a long-term investment on Roma’s part and Daniele De Rossi strongly believes in his abilities to lead the team going forward.
