The future of Algerian midfielder Houssem Aouar is yet to be addressed by Roma only a year into his time at the club.

After a positive start, Aouar’s season suffered due to injuries and inconsistent playing time under Jose Mourinho and, eventually, Daniele De Rossi.

Moreover, Aouar’s disappointing AFCON tournament with his national team took a major psychological toll on the player who seemed to struggle to regain any sort of confidence.

Now, Aouar seems to have arrived at a crossroards with Roma – the midfielder is not guaranteed minutes under De Rossi but could choose to try and convince the Italian manager during the team’s pre-season training this summer.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma could also welcome offers for Aouar who is not deemed untouchable and could be sold after only one season.
