Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s agent announced the player’s decision to part ways with Napoli this summer.
Upon concluding a disappointing campaign with the Partenopei, the Italian fullback requested the club sell him in the offseason.
In recent days, Di Lorenzo had been linked with Roma, among others, who remain vigilant on the situation.
In an interview with TV Play, Di Lorenzo’s agent, Mario Giuffredi, announced the decision to leave.
“Di Lorenzo explained to sporting director Manna that without trust from the club he wants to leave Napoli. A captain cannot be disheartened by his club and therefore he must leave.”
“They spoke with Manna about the year that is coming to an end and the prospects for the next season. Di Lorenzo expressed to Manna some feelings about a lack of trust on the part of the club towards him.”
“To this statement from the captain, Manna expressed his strong personal esteem for him, but on the part of president De Laurentiis there is a desire to sell in case of an offer.”
