Roma are determined to pursue Josh Doig of Sassuolo as one of the club’s summer reinforcements.
The Scottish fullback has been linked with a move to Roma over the last few days as a direct result of Sassuolo’s relegation to Serie B.
After only six months in Reggio Emilia, Doig is said to be ready for a return to Italy’s top flight with Roma maintaining their interest alive.
In fact, the Giallorossi are rumored to be eyeing Doig as the replacement to Leonardo Spinazzola.
Spinazzola is expected to leave Roma as a free agent, leaving only Angeliño as reliable presence on the left wing.
According to Il Messaggero, the capital club have put Doig in their sights to further strengthen that flank.
Talks between the club and the Scotsman are progressing.
Sassuolo’s requested fee is said to be around €6 million which corresponds to the amount they paid to Hellas Verona upon signing Doig in January.
