Roma have prioritized the extension of Diego Llorente’s stay in the capital.

The Spanish defender is reportedly set to continue playing for the capital club as a decision has been taken in light of his convincing performances.

Llorente recently concluded his second consecutive loan at Roma and both him and the club want to continue together.

Llorente’s days at Leeds United seem to be over as the player is happy at Roma.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, Roma technical director Florent Ghisolfi will begin his work for the club by launching talks with Leeds to keep Lorente for at least one more season.

Di Marzio claims Llorente proved to be a reliable player and also convinced De Rossi.

The coach asked Ghisolfi to keep him in Rome: the player agrees, and is just waiting to understand what formula he will stay with, whether on loan for another year or permanently (he can be purchased for €5 million).

Besides Angelino – whose transfer from Leipzig was made permanent a few days ago – Llorente is the only player on loan who is guaranteed to stay on at the club in a summer that will see the likes of Lukaku, Kristensen, Renato Sanches, Azmoun and Dean Huijsen return to their respective parent clubs.
