Roma attacker Stephan El Shaarawy spoke about the importance of his inclusion in Luciano Spalletti’s list for EURO 2024.
After an impressive season with goals, assists and a lot of hard work on the defensive end, El Shaarawy made the cut for the final squad list for the upcoming European Championship.
During a media appearance at Coverciano, El Shaarawy discussed this personal milestone in his career.
“Over time I have learned to play multiple roles. I adapted but it has always been part of my reportoire,” he said.
“This call-up is the result of work, sacrifice, commitment and flexibility. I’m happy with what I did on an individual level this season.”
“Spalletti? He has very clear ideas. I have known him for a long time, he is very demanding.”
“He has clear ideas and we are following him all the way. There is a great desire to make an impact, as in the last European Championship. We will have to be up to it because the level is very high, we will have to be ready.”
“We are a great group and we are ready to achieve our goal,” he added.
