Roma are working to secure Alexander Sorloth’s signature.

The capital club have in fact identified the Norwegian striker as the rightful heir to Romelu Lukaku who recently made his return to Chelsea.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sorloth is now Roma’s priority to strengthen Daniele De Rossi’s attack.

The newspaper reports that Villareal initial asking fee amounts to 38 million euros which is the value of Sorloth’s release clause.

However, the Spanish side need to generate a set amount of revenue in the coming weeks and Sorloth is one of the assets Villareal could end up sacrificing.

Gazzetta claims Roma are aiming to lower Villareal’s demands and have asked for a discount for the player who collected 26 goals and 6 assists last season.
