Artem Dovbyk is now the leading candidate to become Roma’s new striker.
The Ukrainian giant is in talks to join the Giallorossi after negotiations with Atletico collapsed earlier in the week.
Dovbyk’s agent, Oleksiy Lundovsky, confirmed this in an interview with Ukrfootball:
“Atlético is a great club, but we didn’t see a serious project for Artem here,” he stated when asked about the negotiations with the Spanish side.
“Their offer is significantly lower in financial terms compared to the offers from other clubs interested.”
As of right now, Roma appear to be leading the race for the 27-year-old La Liga top goal-scorer of last season.
