Legendary Roma captain Giuseppe Giannini discussed the Giallorossi’s pursuit of Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Giannini shared his opinion on Dobvyk’s possible impact on Roma ahead of next season.
“Seeing the center forwards who wore this shirt in the past would send shivers to many of today’s attackers. But I think that Roma, in identifying Dovbyk, evaluated all aspects, including the human one.”
“He is an high quality player, of international caliber, he can make the difference,” said Giannini.
“I think he could help push Roma in the direction of Champions League qualification. The top scorer of last season’s La Liga campaign is a battering ram with great physical strength but also very good technically.”
“He reminds me of Edin Dzeko. It is no coincidence, from what I could see, that not only did he score 24 goals last season but he was also involved in almost all of Girona’s goal-scoring actions, thanks to his assists and his goals.”
