Less than two weeks until Serie A kicks-off the 2024/25 season, the club future of Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa is still up in the air.
With only one year remaining on his deal, the Italian international was excluded from preseason training by the Bianconeri, who continue looking for a buyer to avoid losing the player for free.
Not short on interest—Lazio have reportedly joined the long list of suitors, including Inter and Roma, keen on acquiring Chiesa before the transfer window shuts later this month on August 30th.
According to Il Messaggero, Lazio manager Marco Baroni has requested a new attacking winger from president Claudio Lotito—with Chiesa near the top of his wish-list.
However, a primary obstacle for the Biancocelesti is the player’s substantial salary, which currently stands at €6 million per season. While they couldn’t match his wages in Torino, they’d be willing to hand him a four-year contract worth €4 million [net] per season.
