Roma were ready to close the deal for Tiago Djalo but eventually back out of the operation.
The Portuguese centreback was in talks to join the Giallorossi on loan from Juventus.
Having only played 16 minutes since March of 2023, Tiago Djalo was big, low-cost gamble that Roma would have only taken if circumstances did not allow the club to focus on other targets.
Djalo arrived in Rome on Friday morning and, as Corriere della Sera reports, underwent a series of two consecutive medical examinations.
Afterwards, the player went back to his hotel and waited for Roma’s verdict.
The club, however, did not proceed with the deal as they remained unconvinced by the player’s longstanding knee issues.
As a result, Djalo returned to Turin, and Roma focused on the possible signing of free agent Mario Hermoso instead.
