With the addition of Mats Hummels, Roma’s transfer window is officially over.

The Giallorossi have decided to remain as they are, having signed both Hermoso and Hummels in free agency over the last few days.

Gone is the possibility of seeing a return of Kostas Manolas to the club.

Initially, Manolas’ agent and Roma were very close to an agreement for the defender’s return on low wages.

According to Il Tempo, the deal was practically done with an agreement on a one-year contract worth 500,000 euros.

However, on Wednesday night Roma held an internal meeting involving members of the management and De Rossi.

During this meeting Manolas’ return was ruled out as an option and the player was made aware of this yesterday in the morning.

Instead, Roma have decided to pick talents from the Primavera in case of defensive emergencies over the course of the season.
