Former Roma sporting director Ramon Monchi Rodriguez spoke of his past in the Italian capital.
In the interview with Sky Sport, the current Aston Villa executive touched upon his years at Roma as well as Daniele De Rossi’s recent dismissal which caused great controversy around the club.
“I had two wonderful years in Rome,” said Monchi. “Maybe the first season went better, but for me it is a city and a club that will always remain in my heart.”
“I became a better professional,” he added. “I grew there a lot.”
“Against Barcelona it was a moment that will remain forever in my life, as I believe it will also be for the fans.”
“I had a wonderful time in Italy, I can only say it was a positive experience,” he continued.
“De Rossi? I haven’t heard from De Rossi since he was sacked. I think it’s a difficult situation, but I can’t say anything because I’m no longer there. I don’t think anyone can question Daniele’s love for Roma.”
